2018 inflation makes 2.5% not 1.8% as claimed by acting PM: economist
Economist, former PM Hrant Bagratyan referred to the claim of the acting PM Nikol Pashinyan that the inflation in Armenia in 2018 made 1.8%.
“Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that despite those ill-wishers the inflation in Armenia in 2018 made 1.8% and praised the work of the Central Bank and the government. But I should note that if the PM was a bit attentive he would have seen that in 2018 the inflation was not 1.8% but 2.5%,” he said, stressing that it is spoken about average inflation and not endpoint.
“In 2018 the Armenian consumer paid for goods and services 2.5% more than in 2017,” he said, adding that there is nothing to be praised of.
