Karabakh conflict negotiations to be held between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Aliyev
Baku and Yerevan are the only negotiating parties in the Karabakh conflict peace talks, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev stated at the extended government sitting.
“New authorities of Armenia tried to avoid the talks in the first phase. They voiced statements that Azerbaijan must negotiate with self-proclaimed Nagorno Karabakh,” Aliyev said.
He said Baku has rejected these attempts and negotiations are still ongoing between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as “only this format is acceptable for the talks.”
Earlier acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he cannot negotiate on behalf of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
