Choice made between political forces and not personalities: Vice speaker on backing PAP’s candidate
Nikol Pashinyan has not made any instructions, discussions were held and a decision was made, NA vice speaker Alen Simonyan told the reporters today, referring to the faction’s decision to back PAP’s candidate in the third post of the vice speaker.
“If a decision was made to back Bright Armenia party’s candidate the journalists would have said that we are appointing an opposition to ourselves as the people have already elected the opposition. We have stated many times that people’s vote is more important. We have reached a logical decision. People have made their choice and we are not going to change it,” Simonyan said.
As to the observation that Mane Tandilyan received more votes than Vahe Enfiajyan, Simonyan said they have not made choice between the personalities but discussed the issue of voting for a political force.
As to the 20 votes against his candidacy, Simonyan said he is happy with it, as it means that he presents certain interest.
