My Step faction MP says military industrial revolution kicked off in Armenia

By now laws promoting import of weapon and not its production were adopted in Armenia, My Step faction MP Tigran Karapetyan said at the NA today.

“But in a very short time we will have arms in our army that will be produced in Armenia. I am convinced in it as the past 18 years of my life are connected with this sector. For more than ten years I headed enterprise of the sector, we have submitted proposals but they were declined,” he said.

Karapetyan stressed the issues in the production of military equipment demand legislative solution. He said he is very excited with the prospect that the new legislative body may give solutions to the issues.

“Only after these solutions we will have serious success. I am really excited as it will be revolution in the military industrial sector,” he said, adding that the revolution has already launched as contracts have already been signed with 6 new suppliers.

As to the statements of the former authorities that nothing is being done in the sector, Karapetyan said, “We will do what you were trying to close for 30 years. We have already done it. I am more than convinced that our success will be continuous.”
