Meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs aimed at creating atmosphere for negotiations: Hovhannes Igityan
Both the yesterday’s and previous meetings between Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers is aimed at creating an atmosphere for negotiations, My Step faction MP Hovhannes Igityan said, referring to the January 16 meeting of Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov.
“Our people are prepared for peace from long ago. If they were not, in 1994 Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh would not have signed the agreement on ceasefire regime,” he said.
As to whether the new authorities demand from Azerbaijan implementation of Vienna and St. Petersburg arrangements, as according to some opponents, the impression is as if the new authorities do not demand implementation of arrangements by Azerbaijan, Igityan said, “There is no such impression, there are just information flows coming from former authorities who want it to be so. There is no such a thing. All the meetings are aimed at reaching the implementation of the Vienna arrangements.”
