Armenian government formed, presentation of action plan to follow
According to the Armenian Constitution during the next five days of the appointment of the country’s prime minister, the latter offers candidates to take the posts of deputy PMs and ministers. Today the five-day term ends, and the government has been formed.
According to Armenia’s legislation, if the 2/3 of the government is being appointed the government is considered formed.
Today the Armenian president signed decrees appointing ministers. All the ministers have been re-appointed in the posts except the labor and social affairs minister. The new minister is Zaruhi Batoyan.
As to diaspora, culture, sport and youth affairs ministers, no appointments have been made as these ministries will be optimized. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated yesterday that the relations with Diaspora will be coordinated by the PM’s staff.
“I think culture is of practical significance aimed at raising the educational level of the people, I mean that culture has educational significance,” the PM said, hinting the possibility of uniting the ministry of culture with the one of education and science ministry.
According to the Constitution, the next phase after the formation of the government is the presentation of government’s action plan to the NA.
