Bright Armenia faction head offers PM to create state labor inspection to ensure implementation of rights of employees
Head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan has applied to the Armenian Prime Minister proposing creation of state labor inspection.
He stressed that for already few years the state labor inspection is not acting while current health and labor state inspection does not have the whole volume of the authorities like the state labor inspection had.
“It is being spoken about mass and periodical violations by many employers. Thousands of employees are working in extremely bad conditions without set time limitation, normal week-ends and with low salary. The others are not registered as a result they are deprived of having fixed working experience and will not get labor pension for these working years,” he stressed, adding that neither of the state bodies is dealing with the issues of the sector, thus an employee may restore its violated rights by applying to court only which, as known, takes time and money.
Marukyan said that as a result the citizens will not apply to court not to be involved in the judicial process while the employers are making use of it and continue violating the rights of employees.
“The state has left an employee face-to-face with the employer while it has its duties regarding protection of rights of employees,” he said, stressing the necessity of re-creating state labor inspection which will control the implementation of labor rights both on its initiative and on the basis of received applications.
