Court decision to arrest ex MP Manvel Grigoryan made under pressures: attorney
The Court of Appeal has upheld the petition of the Prosecutor General’s office to change ex MP Manvel Grigoryan’s preventive measure and arrest him.
Grigoryan’s attorneys avoided meeting with the reporters by leaving the court via backdoor and neither did they answer the phone calls to give comments on the court’s decision.
The attorney Arsen Mkrtchyan made a short post in Facebook asking the reporters not to call him, not ask illogical questions which have nothing to do with jurisdiction. “As of now, I am not commenting on the anti-Armenian judicial acts made under pressures,” he wrote.
Prosecutor General’s office department head Vahagn Muradyan described the decision as legal and grounded.
Manvel Grigoryan was released on bail on December 21, but the Prosecutor General’s office has submitted a petition on re-arresting him.
After Grigoryan’s release residents of Etchmiadzin conducted protest actions demanding his re-arrest. Today the protestors stated that the justice has been restored.
