Death of Haynews.am coordinator to cast shadow on Armenia’s new democratic path: Larisa Alaverdyan

Beyond any doubts the death of Haynews.am coordinator Mher Yeghiazaryan will appear in the annual reports of a number of human rights organizations and will have an essential impact on Armenia’s rating, first ombudsman of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan told Aysor.am, referring to the publication by The Washington Post.

“The reference of the media is painful. When the annual reports on human rights will be prepared the case of Mher Yeghiazaryan will be fixed. Of course, in our country journalists are not being killed, but this case will be mentioned in at least four reports,” the human rights advocate said.

She said as much the international community hails the democracy in Armenia, as much the corresponding bodies must be cautious in their actions.

“The death circumstance of Mher Yeghiazaryan will cast a shadow on the country which has taken new democratic path,” she said.
