Armenia knows its defense and attack abilities but wants peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict: FM
We know our abilities of defense and attack but we want peaceful settlement of the conflict, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said at a joint press conference with Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, referring to the statement of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.
“The trust toward our positions and posts was and remains on a high level. You all know our position. You know our attitude toward the issue of status, you know how we treat the security issue. I repeat the issue of status is being determined by the people of Karabakh. The security issue means that the system that exists today ensures the comprehensiveness of the security,” Mnatsakanyan said.
“I have no need to say how determined we are and what abilities we have to defend both Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh,” he said, adding that Armenian wants peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Yesterday Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan’s economic development and abilities make the country’s position in the negotiation process more firm. Aliyev reiterated the significance of the territorial integrity and noted that Azerbaijan has shown its strength in the battle field too.
