The visit of EU commissioner a step to hurry up Armenia: political analyst
The visit of the EU commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn is a step to hurry up Armenia as the country was to undertake steps in the sidelines of Armenia-EU Agreement few months ago, political analyst Aghasi Yenokyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
Asked whether Armenia is ready to undertake the important steps to solve the issue of delayed process, the expert said, “I think it is not. As to our foreign affairs institution, it is fully involved in the Karabakh conflict settlement process and relations with Russia. It is just necessary to have the resource to work with the EU,” Yenokyan said.
The expert said that the new government must present its concept over the Armenia-EU Agreement for it to be clear how it coincides with the euro-integration steps of the previous authorities.
“On the other hand the visit of the high-ranking officials to Armenia must be viewed in the pre-context of the Karabakh conflict settlement , as we see that intensive talks are taking place,” he said, stressing that it is not excluded that the EU will give serious political and financial assistance to the conflicting parties.
