Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry puts under doubt Armenia’s PM's wish to conduct negotiations
It is difficult to understand Pashinyan’s logic, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated commenting on the statement of the Armenian Prime Minister that Yerevan excludes talks with “territories for peace” formula.
“It is difficult to understand Mr Pashinyan’s logic. As it is known the negotiations over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement held under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group are based on the withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the Azerbaijani occupied territories,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.
“This demand is reflected in 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council and in almost all documents adopted by the international organizations in the sidelines of the conflict regulation. In such case an issue raises: does such position mean that Mr Pashinyan refuses to hold negotiations?” the statement says.
Speaking to reporters on January 30, PM said that Armenia cannot discuss “territories for peace” formula.
