Azerbaijan gets ready for war: Republican party spokesperson

The statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry was expected, Republican party spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov said, speaking to Aysor.am.

“After the invasion of power and change of power in Armenia the Azerbaijanis have always been speaking about “territories for peace” concept. With unclear reasons the Armenian authorities were having more positive and kind expectations from the meetings with Azerbaijani authorities,” Sharmazanov said.

He said Azerbaijani MFA’s statement showed that Nikol Pashinyan’s illusions about Aliyev being a literate and normal person were vain.

“Azerbaijan is getting prepared for war. In all its statements Azerbaijan does not exclude military settlement of the conflict. We must strengthen our society, our army,” he said.

The party’s spokesperson said that the Armenian people have no issue of peace.

Asked whether the Artsakh issue may gather Republican party and Nikol Pashinyan over one table, Sharmazanov said, “Does Pashinyan have an agenda? He must first of all free Kocharyan. It is shame that Artsakh’s first and Armenia’s second president is jailed,” Sharmazanov stated, urging Pashinyan stop shouting and start working.
