Crocodile eggs to be imported to Armenia to start their breeding
Armenia will import crocodile eggs for starting crocodile breeding in Armenia. The preliminary issue of how to register it has been solved. Every imported item has a code and it was necessary to clarify the code which depended on whether the eggs of crocodiles would be imported or the animals.
Speaking to reporters today, founder of Armon company, geologist Khachatur Sargsyan said that it is planned to import eggs from 3-4 different African countries and start breeding crocodiles in Armenia. He stressed that the climate conditions in Armenia allow to do it. “The cost of one egg is $400 but no investments have been made for starting the project yet,” he said.
Sargsyan stressed that the initiative will be a wonderful opportunity to attract tourists, adding that it is not only about crocodile breeding in Dashtavan village. It will be just a part of 21 new infrastructures called Eco Park of Surprises.
“It is rather upsetting that all are speaking about crocodile breeding and do not speak about the rest part of the project. We are going to install the infrastructures here which did not exist – play grounds, places for dogs, outside fitness, routes for bicycles, pools with waves, etc,” he said.
Sargsyan said that the construction of the park will start from March 1.
