“Food revolution” took place in Defense Army still in 2007: Tigran Abrahamyan
The quality of food, its variety and quantity is being improved every year, consultant to the Artsakh Republic President Tigran Abrahamyan told Aysor.am.
“I would definitely say that I do not consider the food issue to be the first, second or even third in the Defense Forces. We did not have any issue connected with food for already 12 years. There were some issues relating to the quality of some portions but that is it,” Abrahamyan said.
The consultant stressed that the “food revolution” took place in the armed forces still in 2007 when radical changes took place in the quality and form of food provided to the staff on military duty. “After it we have consistently improved both the quality and quantity, though of course, there is a place to improve it in future too,” he said.
As to the recent media publications about servicemen complaining of stomachaches after the food, Abrahamyan said such issues may appear due to wrong preparation of the food. “I do not exclude that some received portions lack necessary quality. There were cases when the food was not accepted and sent back to the supplier,” he added.
According to the changes, the servicemen are allowed to have mobile phones without cameras from past year, speaking about it, Abrahamyan said that the servicemen are allowed to use phones but with restrictions. “They are not allowed to use phones every minute they want, and it is right. As to officers, I think in their case it is must be allowed as in case of possible military actions when the entrance of operators would be impossible to the front line, we will have a big problem of taking photos, videos,” he said.
As to the soldiers, Abrahamyan said, he considers today’s decision temporary and expressed conviction that the calls of soldiers to their parents and relatives will be ensured with more secure communication.
Speaking whether any issues rise after the conscripts are already in their units, the consultant said that the whole process of transportation of the conscripts from Artsakh gathering place to training divisions of the military units takes place without any problems and diversions with all the issues getting immediate solutions. He said if necessary communication with parents is ensured.
“I think it all is being organized on a good level,” he said.
