Opposition fails to come to consensus: Lilit Makunts on formation of delegations

The membership of the Armenian delegations to international organizations has finally been approved, head of My Step faction Lilit Makunts told the reporters today.

Earlier Aysor.am has reported that yesterday’s session of the NA’s Council did not pass smoothly with the disputes having risen with the opposition over the membership.

“To understand the involvement in the delegations we have decided to apply the proportion format. According to this proportion, My Step faction is a majority in the delegations which we presented at the session of the council,” she said, adding that they have also offered to include representatives of the opposition in the delegations.

“But the opposition did not come to consensus and the proposal was not accepted,” Makunts said.

As a result, Bright Armenia faction will not be represented in the Armenian delegation to NATO while the Prosperous Armenia faction will not be represented in the Armenian delegation to BSEC.

“We have offered rotation principle to be applied temporarily but it was rejected by them either. We want and we claim that principle of proportion must act but at the same time we are ready to display a flexible approach in separate issues,” Makunts said.
