“Land handing” authorities do not initiate construction of Vardenis-Martakert highway: Artsakh ex-PM to Samvel Babayan

Former prime minister of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan has responded to the former commander of Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan who in the interview with Azatutyun.am stated that in 2017 Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan negotiated over handing territories.

“I would like to inform Mr Babayan and the people that during the years of presidency Serzh Sargsyan was always open with the authorities of Artsakh and all the issues were discussed in conditions of mutual respect and dialogue,” Harutyunyan wrote in Facebook.

He also stressed that “the land handing” authority is not initiating construction of Vardenis-Martakert highway, does not initiate repatriation program and undertake policy of equal territorial development on the account of investments and state means and finally, it does not strengthen the army.

“Thus, I urge to refrain from such like speculations. Instead, each of us must undertake concrete steps for the long-term defense and development of our homeland,” he concluded.
