Attorney describes court’s decision to keep Kocharyan in custody – clear political order
The decision of the Court of Appeal to keep Robert Kocharyan in custody lacks any legal component, defense team member Hayk Alumyan told the reporters after the court published its decision today.
“The legal component in this decision is zero. This is a political decision, this is a political order,” he said.
The attorney noted that if any unbiased lawyer viewed their complaint he would have seen at least 10 grounds to uphold it and free Robert Kocharyan.
Asked about Kocharyan’s response, Alumyan said that he once again got convinced that he is being politically persecuted.
Alumyan said after the decision of the court Kocharyan told his attorneys that justice is not being implemented in this case but just a political persecution.
He said they will by all means appeal this decision. “Another complaint will be filed to the European Court of Human Rights,” Alumyan said.
