Issues still exist for creating safe investment environment in Armenia: Michael Melkumyan
Prosperous Armenia faction MP Michael Melkumyan does not hurry to evaluate the draft program of the Armenian government which has been submitted to the parliament today.
“We must view, understand how it corresponds to our program provisions. As of now we cannot voice any clear opinion. We must have official discussion,” Melkumyan said.
Asked whether he sees possibility of economic revolution in the program, Melkumyan said that there is a political will to do it.
Asked how he assesses the investment environment in Armenia, the opposition faction MP said steps were undertaken to overcome corruption, artificial monopoly.
“They have really been overcome. But life shows that still there are many steps to be undertaken. Business, investments are not like calculators to switch them off and then on with the same number to come. People must see that their investments are safe and minimal profit ensured. While here we have serious problems with real independence of legal-judicial system as business loves decisions to be made in short period of time,” he said.
