Government’s program does not claim to make economic revolution with the content it has: PAP MP
Aysor.am has conducted interview with PAP faction MP Gevorg Petrosyan over the government’s program and restructures.
Asked about the impression from the government’s program and whether it really, as PM has stated, declares the launch of economic revolution, Petrosyan said it does not register concrete amounts and terms for raise of salaries, pensions.
“It says the government is consistent in eliminating the poverty but it is not the matter of consistency, it must be an obligation. You are already a functioning government you must not just give promises, but you assume commitments,” he said.
He stressed that commitments toward people must prevail in the government’s program.
“And if the new government must give just luxurious promises but secure itself if not implementing them, saying that it was just a promise then it will really put in doubt the trust of the people,” he said, adding that the program may have promises too but the accent must not be put on them.
“All the political forces, including My Step alliance were basing on “trust and demand” slogan at the election campaign. Now the people trusted, thus it has right to demand. This program with such a content does not tend to make economic revolution. The wish exists but it lacks professional analyses and right provisions,” he said.
Speaking about fight against corruption, Petrosyan stressed that the wish to fight against corruption is visible and undisputable but it must not be so extensive if there are no rich people and so much wealth in the country.
“Ok, let’s say they have caught two people, arrested them but the wealth of the country is focused in the hands of very few people and after their revelation there is no need of fighting against corruption. The 70-80% of our population is poor. Does this fight refer only to one layer of the society?”
He stressed that the people have formed the government for them not to fight against few people but to improve life.
As to the structural changes in the government and creation of new post to coordinate relations with Diaspora, the PAP MP said, "If they really made a decision to leave 12 ministries, I hope it will not be on the account of destroying social-economic situation, cultural policy or harming relations with Diaspora.
The MP said after the draft program is at their disposal, they will make more observations relating to it.
