Statement made at YSU basis of criminal charges against Kocharyan: attorney
The judge of Court of Appeal continued violating the law and keep Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan under custody attorney, member of defense team Hayk Alumyan told the reporters today.
“The fate of the people must not depend on which prosecutor is controlling the investigation. The approach toward a person must not be so biased and depend on personalities,” he said.
Alumyan said the key role in the charges against Kocharyan plays the fact that till March 1 events the president had met with students at YSU and stated that the authorities had two variants either to wait until demonstrations end on their own, or force them to stop.
“This is the basis of the accusation,” Alumyan said.
