Azerbaijan purchases aircraft and satellite from USA totaling $197 million: political analyst
During past November Azerbaijan imported aircraft and satellites from the USA amounting to $197 million, political analyst Suren Sargsyan wrote in Facebook, adding that it did the same in October too, which means it is a continuous process.
“If someone in our country is interested, I will say that last November Azerbaijan has imported aircraft and satellites from the USA amounting to $197 million. The same it did in October. It means it is a continuous process. But as far as no one is interested what, how, where from, I close the topic,” the political analyst wrote.
Speaking to Aysor.am, Sargsyan said that the trade turnover between the USA and Azerbaijan several times exceeds the one between Armenia and the United States.
“Armenia is 173d trade partner of the USA while Azerbaijan is 107th. If to consider that the USA has no diplomatic relations with part of UN 193 member states and consequently has no trade with them and applies sanctions against another part, it means Armenia is in very back positions both regarding import and export,” Sargsyan said.
“Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan actively acquires the products I have written about,” he said.
“Azerbaijan is trying to purchase everything possible from the USA. It may even acquire civil helicopter, turn it into a military one and use for its needs,” the expert said.
Sargsyan reminded the issue of purchase of helicopters he raised months ago.
“I have voiced the issue but is was successfully closed, stating that they are of civilian nature. Though we saw how they were militarized and there are even photos of them in the military base in Azerbaijan,” Sargsyan said.
