Economic revolution to be carried out with same toolset as political one: Armenia’s PM
The government’s program is based on the electoral program of My Step bloc which in its turn is based on the Civil Contract party’s program, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the NA, presenting the draft program of the government for the upcoming 5 years.
“We are planning to implement the economic revolution with the same toolset as the political revolution. The most important message of our party was that the most important factor of public transformation is transformation of an individual. We state that one of the most important factors for development in any sector of public life is the individual effort without which no changes may be registered,” Pashinyan said.
He reminded the past of his political force, the accusations addressed to them and added that they have invested their will to make political change.
“In April-May 2018 we managed to show our will and become the guarantor of the will of proud citizen of Armenia. We did not need to carry out an armed attack. We managed to use new technology and the live videos on Facebook,” the head of the government said.
Pashinyan also mentioned the fund raising mechanisms which allowed to unite Armenians both in the country and outside of it.
“And finally this revolution became possible with another reason, our political team has no financial, political commitments before any individual, any force and circle. This is the most important factor ensuring Armenia’s and its peoples’ sovereignty. We have commitment only before people and we will use the mandate the people gave to us for reaching real economic changes in Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
“The economic revolution will win only when the Armenian citizen changes his/her economic behavior, thus the government sees its activity in encouraging and promoting the change of behavior of the citizens,” he said, adding that this is why the government’s program lacks numbers. Pashinyan said the figures depend on how many citizens will be ready to become “economic activists.”
