People in Armenia must have opportunity to start business from 0: Armenian PM
Tax-free micro-business will play a significant role in reduction of poverty in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today at the NA, presenting the draft program of the Armenian government.
He stressed that with the amendments in the tax legislation the government offers relieving micro-business with 24 million AMD annual turnover from different taxes and voiced hope that the parliament will approve the legislative changes.
“We think that this innovation is extremely important from the point of view of poverty reduction. There are different approaches regarding the methods and means of overcoming poverty in Armenia, in many cases people perceive it as providing food, clothes and other material means without answering a simple question and what will be then?” Pashinyan said, adding that previously too this way of thinking was tied to people for serving the corrupted system.
The head of the government stressed that the government headed by him views overcoming poverty only by work.
“There can be no other method of overcoming poverty but working. We must help the Armenian citizens to create jobs and overcome poverty on their own. We say that in Armenia people must have an opportunity to start business from zero,” Pashinyan said, adding that for it the government must relieve them of taxes, increase the financial flows of the citizens for getting low interest rate loans and help getting business education.
