Azerbaijan urges Pashinyan not to tense situation over Karabakh conflict: Azerbaijani MFA representative
Azerbaijan urges the Armenian leadership not to tense the situation over Nagorno Karabakh conflict but promote the peaceful process, spokesperson for Azerbaijani MFA Leyla Abdullayeva said, commenting on the statement of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Nikol Pashinyan must not tense the situation with his statements, but on the contrary, he must create preconditions for reaching a result in the conflict settlement process which is being registered in the recent statements of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs,” Abdullayeva told Interfax-Azerbaijan.
She said the accusations of the Armenian side about Baku’s “aggressive rhetoric” and attempts to change format of negotiations are unacceptable for Azerbaijan.
“On one side he is speaking about the importance of creation peaceful conditions for the settlement of the conflict, on the other tries to change the format of negotiations trying to accuse Azerbaijan of “aggressive rhetoric” as if it prepares its people not for peace but for war. The truth is that it is not about Azerbaijani “aggressive rhetoric” but Armenia’s aggressive actions,” Abdullayeva said.
The Azerbaijani MFA spokesperson added that the statements of the Armenian leadership voiced till now raise more questions than promote peace in the region.
“The sooner the Armenian PM understands the usefulness of the conflict settlement and for his country in particular, the faster he will keep the promise of “economic revolution” given to the people of Armenia,” she said.
Speaking at the NA yesterday Pashinyan stated that Azerbaijan is more inclined to military solution of the conflict.
