The only guilty of poverty in 90s was Levon Ter-Petrosyan: Edmon Marukyan

Discussion of government’s program takes place in an atmosphere of intolerance, Bright Armenia MP Edmon Marukyan stated today at the NA.

“I am surprised how fast the force which was an opposition just a while ago becomes so intolerant toward the opposition. In such short period of time they start mockingly, with different stylistic, neurolinguistic tricks divert the discussion or mock the political competitors,” he said.

“I remember the 90s when I was a child and we were poor the only guilty of it was Levon Ter-Petrosyan. In 2000s when we were poor the only guilty of it was Robert Kocharyan. Until 2018 the guilty of us being poor was Serzh Sargsyan. We know so. This is our political system and then revolution comes, and the leader of the revolution says that the poverty is in the heads of the people,” Marukyan stressed.

He noted that though he agrees with the theses that the overcoming of the poverty is also in changing mentality and being active, but a question raises what the leaders of the country are responsible for.

“We are used that the state is responsible for our happiness. We demanded and will demand from the state and we are right, as the system is such,” he said.

Marukyan also urged his colleagues not to speculate the revolution as those who did nothing during these days and now make use of the opportunities speak more about it than Pashinyan.

In the end Marukyan stressed that he forgives the criticism voiced by the new colleagues but urged not to reduce the scale of the parliamentary debates.
