Revolution seems not to serve citizens but just few “proud” citizens for them to reach their goals: Arman Babajanyan
Armenian MP from Bright Armenia faction Arman Babajanyan referred in an extended Facebook post to several aspects of the government’s program.
The MP stressed that during the discussions reference was made to the different sectors and directions of the program pushing back the ideological, value aspect of it.
“The government states about the intention to carry out economic revolution. It declares it and agrees its implementation with the participation of the citizens, change of people’s economic behavior,” he wrote, adding that with it the government views a person not as a target but as a means.
“It states that the economic revolution will be carried out not for the citizens but through the citizens. This is the outlook of the government’s program, its philosophy,” he wrote.
“In wider sense, the velvet revolution too viewed a person as a means and not as a goal. It may be proved with the fact that during the past ten months it did not do anything for the citizens and continues being guided with the strategy of expectations from the citizens,” he continued.
Babajanyan stressed that today’s government has adopted 'people for work' approach.
“The government's program and the whole policy of the authorities is the expression of “person for work” philosophy. The Armenian velvet revolution and economic revolution are not person-oriented, they are not for citizens but for few proud citizens for who the rest people are just a way for them to reach their goals,” he wrote.
“The authorities should return to person-oriented philosophy and stop viewing a person as a way, but a chief goal. Not a person must serve the revolution, but the revolution to the person, citizen,” he concluded.
