Political decision made on lifting ban on driving cars with Armenian driver license in Russia
Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly’s Regional and Eurasian Integration Affairs Standing Committee Michael Melkumyan stated about the aim to annul the ban on driving cars in Russia with the Armenian driving license.
Speaking at the session of the committee today, Melkumyan said it was discussed with the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov.
“We have discussed the issue. There is a political decision to do it,” Melkumyan said, stressing that Kalashnikov too attached significance to the circumstance.
Melkumyan stressed that as of now Armenian citizens visiting Russia with tourism purpose are allowed to drive cars with their driver license while if an Armenian citizen works in one of Russian companies and has Armenian driver license he cannot drive car while at work.
“We must lift this ban with clear steps and comprehensible inquiries,” he said.
