Those who rob from people must be ashamed, morally destroyed and sent to jail: Armenia’s PM
Armenia’s economic development and investments minister Tigran Khachatryan briefed at the cabinet sitting today on the bill approving the proposal on signing EU for Armenia: Territorial Development funding contract signed between Armenia and the EU.
The Prime Minister stressed that such grants have been received and the process will continue. “When we sum up these grants we get huge numbers, so if we manage to ensure effective use of these sums it cannot give no result and it cannot have no impact on Armenian citizen,” he said, adding that all the means, grants, state means must be used effectively.
“If nothing changes in the lives of the people it means somewhere, someone is stealing something, there is no other way,” Pashinyan said. He urged the government representatives not to lose soberness even for a second and not weaken fight against corruption.
“Today still bribes are being taken in Armenia, and this is being proved by concrete arrests. But if this phenomenon exists, it means that we will not have one or two arrests in a month but 10, 20. I am not interested whether it is a former official, party representative, my family member, those who steal from people of Armenian must be caught, convicted, ashamed, morally destroyed and sent to jail,” he said.
