Applications to ECHR not viewed as hostility against Armenia: justice minister
The complaints filed to the European Court of Human Rights is not perceived as a hostility against Armenia, justice minister Artak Zeynalyan said at a working discussion at the NA Standing Committee today.
Asked how to prevent verdicts against Armenia in the ECHR, Zeynalyan said it is necessary not to violate human right in the country which will result in lesser applications to the ECHR.
“Nevertheless, applying to the ECHR is a practical, scientific process. With ECHR decision a right is being created, enriched. This is an event not only in the legal sector, but political, public sectors as well. ECHR decisions are not only against Armenia but other member states of the Council of Europe,” the minister said.
