PM’s position over passing to 100% proportional electoral system to be finally formed after political consultations
The position of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on passing to 100% proportional electoral system will be finalized after discussion and consultations with political forces, government press service told Aysor.am.
Aysor.am asked about the position of the PM to passage to 100% proportional electoral system and PMs position on the proposal of the ANC to conduct constitutional reforms in one-year time and change of the governance system of the country.
In response the government press service has sent the link from YouTube of the PM’s speech at the NA where he states that current system of governance is close to his heart.
In the speech the PM stated that he would not bear the situation where he cannot come up as a political figure, make speeches at the NA, listen to questions, give answers, share with public with his ideas.
“I am not saying that the president does not have such opportunities but his opportunities are less democratic, as the MPs have no occasion to address questions to the president which is very bad. The parliamentary control systems which will grow by all means and work more effectively are very important. In my opinion the PM is the most interested in the issue of control,” he said.
