Pashinyan put a high bar on May 9 and fails to reach it: Sharmazanov
After each statement of the Armenian Prime Minister the idea that the new authorities and the PM have no clear concept about the Karabakh conflict settlement is being enrooted in me, spokesperson for the Republican party Eduard Sharmazanov said, speaking to Aysor.am.
“He is a prime minister and after ten months he is preparing for the meeting and says there is no concrete agenda,” Sharmazanov said, describing such approach very dangerous.
As to the statements voiced by the Azerbaijani president, Sharmazanov said that Aliyev continues voicing territorial demands and does not exclude military solution of the conflict.
“Aliyev has publicly stated that Azerbaijan has improved its positions in the peace talks. I have never treated Aliyev’s words as pure truth but as far as the authorities of my country remain silent and do not make any counterarguments, I am getting rather concerned,” he said.
Sharmazanov stressed that the most important in the policy is efficiency and not emotional speeches.
“I have always stated about the importance of efficiency in policy…there is nothing under the words proud, happy…,” he stressed.
The RPA representative also said that on May 9 in Karabakh Pashinyan put a high bar and is not able to reach it.
“He immediately stated that Artsakh must return to the table of negotiations. So? The impression among people was that Pashinyan, unlike the previous incompetent authorities, would bring Bako Sahakyan and Masis Mayilyan to the table of negotiations. Now I ask, you have stated it on May 9, tomorrow spring comes, where is your promise?”
