Pashinyan speaks up about meeting with Aliyev, says it will have no agenda
One of the key issues of the Armenian government is the raise of Karabakh’s role in the negotiation process, Armenia’s prime minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the meeting with the Armenian community in Tehran, in response to a question.
“We will meet with the president of Azerbaijan, it will be a meeting without agenda but the issue of the format of peace talks will be discussed. Until agreement is reached over the format of negotiations, the contacts cannot be considered official negotiations,” Pashinyan said.
“I am speaking on behalf of Armenia, because I am Armenia’s Prime Minister, I am not speaking on behalf of Artsakh, because Artsakh has its authorities. In the negotiations Artsakh must be represented by own authorities. We must to the utmost to give new status to Karabakh at negotiations,” he said.
