No return to old traditions: Armenia’s PM addresses speech on March 1, eleven years after bloody developments
After 11 years of March 1 developments, it is extremely important to evaluate what had happened, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in his March 1 address to the people.
“I consider it necessary to register that the actions of ruling power in 2008 were not addressed against concrete acting force, against an individual. The target of these violence and illegalities was exclusively an Armenian citizen, his/her rights, dignity and freedom,” the PM stressed.
“Today, on March 1, 2019, I want to clearly register that there can be no return to old traditions. Armenia will not return to the corruption, political persecutions, political violence, anarchy and violation of human rights,” Pashinyan said, stressing that the page of solving issues through violence has been closed in Armenia.
