Armenia’s authorities gave to much hope to Azerbaijan, Minsk Group regarding concede of territories: Robert Kocharyan
There are few principle provisions in Karabakh conflict regulation process, over which the authorities must have clear approaches before starting negotiations, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said in an interview to 168 Zham.
“No matter with what explanations Pashinyan will try to cover the negotiations, they do take place. Not the pure fact of negotiations raises doubts but the efforts with which the prime minister is trying to reject their existence. The people do not know the position of the authorities in the Karabakh conflict settlement, as what has been voiced till now, raises concerns. How can you conduct successful negotiations without clearly formulated position? Negotiations are not lazy gatherings but tool for achieving success,” Kocharyan told the paper.
The second president stressed that obviously Aliyev has easily registered a privilege upon Pashinyan.
“The elevator talks in Dushanbe buried Vienna and St. Petersburg arrangements beneficial for us and aimed at strengthening trust on the line of contact. They were the very price Azerbaijan pays for imposing April war,” he said, adding that the causes of it do not matter - whether it was conscientious choice or result of ignorance.
“In both cases it was a big mistake. The Armenian side raised great expectations regarding conceding territories both among Azerbaijan and co-chairs, which is the reason why, I think, the next proposals of the Minsk Group will not be favorable,” he said.
Kocharyan stated that he will not allow any attempt of “handing” territories.
“Nothing can be excluded with this authorities. No matter what, I will not allow any attempt of “handing” Karabakh irrespective of where I am. I am convinced that all those for who Artsakh is part of Armenia will do the same. By the way, this is what lacks among the prime minister and the major part of his team. They have no relation to Artsakh’s independence and military success and they hate all those who fought for that victory. That is why the people must control each their step in Karabakh issue. No one should believe the contradicting statements of the PM,” the second president said.
