Negotiations over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement not held over any document: Armenia’s FM
At present negotiations over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement are not being held over any document, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said in an interview with Public TV.
“We had an occasion to explain and say many times that we have not hesitated for any moment from May, we have not postponed any peace process. Immediately after May, in June, we had first contacts with the co-chairs. In June the first meeting on the level of foreign ministers took place. In July meeting did not take place in the sidelines of the Brussels gathering. In September the second meeting of the foreign ministers took place. In September Armenian Prime Minister and Azerbaijani president had contacts with clear results. Then a meeting followed in St. Petersburg and then in January the foreign ministers met again and then the PM and Azerbaijani president had contacts in Davos,” Mnatsakanyan said.
He said it all aimed at getting involved in the process and specify the positions the government has in the peace process.
“This was the logic and continues to be as we are aimed at working exclusively in the direction of peaceful settlement of the conflict. Alternative to peace should be excluded. I repeat again, it does not mean that the Armenian side lacks determination. We just want to work over peaceful settlement of the conflict,” the minister said.
