Iran describes poster presented at Armenia’s PM’s meeting with community representatives in Iran unacceptable
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Sunday that Karabakh conflict should be resolved based on dialogue and international principles as it is very important for Iran in its relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, IRNA news agency reports.
Referring to the recent visit of Armenian prime minister to Tehran, Qasemi said that they have stated for several times, Tehran's stand with regards to all its neighbors is very crystal clear, transparent and definite as neighbors are among Iran's first priority in the country's foreign policy, Qasemi said.
“Tehran is determined to broaden very consolidated relations with its neighbors based on mutual respect and non-interference in each other's affairs,” he added.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is to spare no effort to help resolve the issue, he underlined.
Qasemi stated that Iran’s relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan must not be influenced by Karabakh conflict, which he stressed should be settled through peace talks.
As to the meeting of the Armenian PM in Ararat complex with the representatives of the Armenian community of Iran, the MFA spokesperson said, “It was not an unreasonable act, but indeed, some posters showed in the complex relating to Karabakh conflict [Artsakh is Armenia, that’s it] in Armenian language is considered arbitrary and unacceptable act, not supported by Iran.
