All developments around Artsakh transparent: My Step MP
Speculations about hiding negotiations existing between Aliyev and Pashinyan are senseless, MP from My Step faction, member of Foreign Relations Standing Committee Michael Zolyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
“These speculations are senseless. Everything that happens around Artsakh is transparent with Nikol Pashinyan informing the public every time what steps are being undertaken and what they are aimed at,” Zolyan said, referring to the viewpoint of Armenia’s second president that Pashinyan is trying to cover negotiations which do take place.
As to the criticism that meeting with Aliyev has no agenda, Zolyan said such meetings are aimed at determining the format and circles of future negotiations.
“What is expected is negotiation about negotiations. It is a normal process we must follow to. I have no doubts that the Armenian side will be guided by the interests of Armenia and Artsakh,” he said.
Speaking about the prospect of bringing Artsakh back to the table of negotiations, Zolyan said that it will be a lasting process as Artsakh was not participating in the talks for many years.
“It is a long lasting, complicated process, but we are going in that direction, and I am convinced that both the international community and the other parties of the process will understand this logic if, of course, they are interested in the solution of the conflict. If they are not, they may leave today’s format and speak about the conflict settlement for years without undertaking any steps in that direction,” Zolyan said.
