Rapprochement with EU does not intend conspiracy against Russia: Armenia’s PM
The European Union is not forwarding Armenia issue of geopolitical orientation, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today in response to the questions of members of the Council of Europe Foreign Relations Committee.
“Our cooperation with the EU is fully aimed at implementation of reforms. Indeed, our cooperation with Russia is very important as we continue being strategic partners, and I think there are no contradictions and cannot be in our relations with Russia and the EU,” Pashinyan said, adding that these relations are transparent.
“I consider it important to note that our rapprochement with the EU does not imply any conspiracy against Russia like there is no conspiracy against the EU in our continuous relations with Russia,” Pashinyan said.
He said for Armenia the cooperation in the energy sector is extremely important, and Armenia is planning to develop this cooperation with Russia and Iran.
“I was visiting Iran days ago, and we have discussed opportunities for boosting cooperation in energy sector,” the PM stressed.
