Economic growth, stable and speeded-up development main tools for overcoming poverty: Armenia’s president

Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian received today director of World Bank Armenia office Sylvie Bossoutrot, president’s press service reports.

During the meeting the interlocutors referred to a number of issues of Armenia-WB partnership agenda.

Stressing the effective cooperation with the World Bank, the president said that the work with international financial organizations and WB in particular is very important for Armenia. The president said that the economic growth, stable and speeded-up development are the main tools for overcoming the poverty in the country. He stressed that the joint programs carried out with the World Bank must be aimed at solution of the issues through these tools.

Sylvie Bossoutrot, in her part said that a strategic document registering priorities of cooperation with Armenia for the upcoming four years is being prepared.

She said the document is based on promotion of export and competition, development of human capital, nature protection and management of resources.
