U.S. Ambassador reaffirms U.S. support for Armenia’s democratic institutions at the meeting with NA Speaker

U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy visited the Armenian Parliament for the first time today, U.S. Embassy Armenia Facebook Page reports.

The Ambassador met with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan. During the meeting the U.S. Ambassador reaffirmed U.S. support for Armenia’s democratic institutions.

NA press service reports that welcoming the ambassador, NA speaker Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated her on assuming the mission, wishing her effective work for the sake of welfare and prosperity of the two countries. The NA speaker stressed that the United States is one of the important partners of Armenia and our country attaches great significance to the further enhancement and development of bilateral relations.

The head of the legislative power also highly assessed the U.S. support to Armenia in the implementation of reforms in different sectors.

During the meeting the parties also referred to the development of Armenian-U.S. trade-economic relations.
