The constructive statements of Armenia’s PM remain unresponsive from Azerbaijani side: MFA spokesperson
MFA Spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan commented on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process.
“The statements of different state circles of Azerbaijan have become considerably tougher recently. Use of force or threat of usage of force, military solution of the conflict is being accentuated in them which is unconstructive and reprehensible and should be condemned. This is reflected in the latest statement of the co-chairs,” the statement of spokesperson says.
The various constructive statements of the Armenian side and Armenia’s PM remained unresponsive from the Azerbaijani side, the spokesperson stressed.
“We hear from Baku that the ‘force factor has always been on the agenda,’ ‘military factor has a special place in the core of conflict resolution’, 'force gives birth to right', etc. Moreover, on the background of the statement about the meeting of the leaders of the two countries Azerbaijan is initiating wide scale offensive drills without notifying which contradicts the demands of international commitments,” the spokesperson stated.
In conditions when the Armenian PM states in the European Parliament about the necessity of applying culture of mutual concessions, dialogue and tolerance in the region, Baku threatens that they may prepare their people not for peace but for other resolution.
“Such rhetoric and non-constructive statements do not promote formation of corresponding climate for negotiations. Armenia has many times stated that it does not accept such approaches and imposture of negotiations under threat,” Naghdalyan stated.
“Armenia has always voiced its commitment and supported exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship the priorities of which are Artsakh’s security and its status. One of the bright proofs of our commitment is that after the velvet revolution in Armenia the peace process was not canceled but has got a new dynamics,” the spokesperson noted.
Naghdalyan also stressed that formation of climate of peace, introduction of mechanisms for reduction of risks and prevention of incidents fixed at the summit in Dushanbe and before it in the summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg, continue being topical.
