NATO’s activity known to narrow circle of experts in Armenia: German ambassador
Armenia’s dialogue with NATO continues normally, head of ammunition control and international security department of the Foreign Ministry, ambassador Armen Yedigaryan said, presenting the events for the upcoming week of NATO in Armenia.
He stressed that NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai will also be in Armenia.
German ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler thanked the Armenian Armed Forces for participating in NATO peacekeeping mission.
As to NATO week, the ambassador said that this time more countries will be involved in the event.
Nevertheless, the ambassador said that only small part of Armenia’s public is aware of NATO’s activity.
“Unfortunately, according to my impression I have got from my contacts, in Armenia NATO is known only to narrow circles of experts. Thus, during this week not only discussions between specialists and experts are important but involvement of wider layers of public,” the German ambassador said.
