For the first time new Armenian authorities addressed comprehensive message to international community and Azerbaijan: Edmon Marukyan

The conduction of the session of Security Council in Artsakh is a message following the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan told the reporters in the NA today.

“Pashinyan’s speech was quite comprehensive, besides, it was a written speech, which is too very important. It means it was clearly thought over, with concrete accentuations, clear messages,” he said, adding that it seems that for the first time the new authorities of Armenia addressed a message to the international community and Azerbaijan over the Artsakh issue in a coordinated way.

“These were messages more for foreign consumption rather than inner,” Marukyan said.

Speaking about Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting, Marukyan said that he does not have big expectations from the expected meeting regarding the resumption of negotiations.

As to the return of Karabakh to the table of negotiations, Marukyan said, “There is no need to wait for the Azerbaijani side to say ok, if you say so, let Karabakh come and negotiate. It will not happen. It is necessary to work with the international community over the issue.”
