Rectors who close doors on students have no place in new Armenia: Armenia’s PM
The whole educational system must be depoliticized, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the extraordinary cabinet sitting today.
“The rectors who have turned the highest educational system into party cells, those who closed doors on the students, have nothing to do in the new Armenia,” Pashinyan said, adding that this is his clear position.
“We must not be afraid to state this position, to say let them scratch doors, tables, armchairs, but they have nothing to do in new Armenia, let them go and find other job, other mission,” Pashinyan said.
The PM also stressed that a rector who closed the doors on students cannot continue working in Armenia.
“The revolution started with such demand and will end with such demand. There is no other option. It is political decision and whether the decision is implemented a week later does not change anything, let no one have unnecessary hopes,” Pashinyan stated.
