Electric Yerevan scenario not to repeat in case of gas tariff growth: political technologist

Though it is not clear yet whether the Russian gas tariff will grow for consumers or not, but even if so it is almost impossible for the wave of complaint to raise like Electric Yerevan action in Yerevan, political technologist Armen Badalyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.

He said the people will hardly carry out wide-scale actions with a simple reason – unlike Electric Yerevan, this time no clear masterminds of wave of protests are being noticed.

“I consider it almost impossible for Electric Yerevan scenario to repeat as previously the protest actions were not being carried out without orders. Such actions need organizers, structures to finance them,” the political technologist said.

He said the Electric Yerevan protest action was aimed to check the soberness of the people.

As to the comment that closing roads has become a common practice to express protest after the political events of the past years, the political technologist said that if the protest actions are not ordered, financed and organized no wide-scale actions may be expected.

“Residents of some communities may close roads but in Yerevan roads are not being closed. Even if it happens, it takes just few minutes like in case of the employees of demounting cafes in Opera territory who closed Mahstots Ave. for few minutes,” Badalyan said.
