Contrary to pessimistic forecasts Armenia and the EU are intensively moving forward toward the realization of joint agreement
Contrary to pessimistic forecasts Armenia and the EU are intensively moving forward toward the realization of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement between Armenia and the EU, chairman of the NA’s Foreign Relations Standing committee Ruben Rubinyan at a discussion today.
“After the velvet revolution and elections that corresponded to all international criteria Armenia has took it place among the democratic countries. We and our European partners are speaking in the same language and have full mutual understanding. This creates a fruitful ground for the future development of relations,” Rubinyan said.
He reminded that the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement has been ratified by Armenian and 10 EU member states’ parliaments.
Speaking about the possibility of setting visa free regime between Armenia and the EU, Rubinyan noted that the dialogue over it has already launched.
“The EU partners have stated that Armenia is technically ready for it and we are working in that direction. This will be an important message for the Armenian people and all others who are struggling and reaching democracy,” Rubinyan said.
