New start given to negotiation process: Aliyev describes negotiations with Pahsinyan as constructive
Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev stated that the negotiations with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Vienna passed in constructive atmosphere.
“The negotiations passed in constructive atmosphere. This is the first official meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan after long pause. The previous meetings were more of familiarizing nature,” Aliyev told the reporters, RIA Novosti reports.
“The meeting is important as it has given a new start to the process of negotiations over the issue,” the Azerbaijani president said.
“The foreign ministers have been instructed to continue the negotiation process that will be oriented on having an outcome,” Aliyev stated.
