Americans do not assist us, we are not their allies: political analyst
Political analyst Suren Sargsyan commented on the statement of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the United States have “practically given zero response” to the 2018 developments in Armenia.
“If the change of power in Armenia took place during the presidency of Bush or Obama we would have had qualitatively other Armenian-Amercian agenda, statements, support. If Hilary was president, we too would have had other quality agenda. Trump is very pragmatic president. He has no obligations to give anything to anyone. He does not owe us,” the political analyst wrote in Facebook.
He said Trump considers his duty to support only his allies – Israel, Georgia and other states and this is logical.
“We must finally understand that we are neither USA’s ally, nor are of strategic significance for that country. There are issues in Armenian-American relations. Some are solvable and some are not. We have problems with U.S. allies (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel) and they have issues with our allies (Russia, Iran). Not mentioning that they have some issues with some of our officials. So, yes, Nikol is right, the Americans do not assist us. Yes, Trump is right, we are not their allies, he does not owe us, he has neither agenda of change of power in the world nor spending money,” Sargsyan wrote.
Yesterday at his concluding speech in the NA Pashinyan referred to the Armenian-American relations, saying that practically they have given zero response to the development in Armenia.
“Why? When we say that the significant thing for us is the sovereignty of our country, we do not mean that we must replace the A point of dependence with dependence from B point. We treat our sovereignty seriously, and I want to assure you and you should have already seen that the government is zealous in protecting the sovereignty of our country and people in all directions,” Pashinyan said.
