Usage of right terminology is a must in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict issue: Davit Babayan
While speaking about Nagorno Karabakh conflict it is very necessary to choose right terminology, spokesperson for the Artsakh president Davit Babayan told Aysor.am. He said the right thing is to say Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
To the comment that representative of Azerbaijani president’s staff Hikmet Hajiyev wrote in his Twitter microblog about March 29 meeting that “Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict regulation will be discussed,” not mentioning Nagorno Karabakh, Babayan said, “We are always fighting for usage of right terminology and the right terminology is “Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.” The Azerbaijani side uses “Armenian-Azerbaijani – Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” but now they are omitting Nagorno Karabakh making it a conflict between two peoples, which is a terrible thing to do. With it they show that it is not only about Karabakh. The reason is that they have other goals – Yerevan, Syunik, Sevan, etc.”
He said the wrong terminology is often being used by the Armenian side as well.
“We must understand it too and use right terminology at least in our mass media, political, expertise circles,” he said.
